These
four young gentlemen from the Niagara Region are currently busting
their way through the Niagara club scene with their innovative
blend of tight vocals harmonies and catchy pop-rock melodies.
Their energetic stage presence and clean cut image have
left an imprint in the minds of audiences and club owners alike.
It's no wonder Confusion of the Senses is destined for
greatness in the Canadian music scene.
Sherman
Arnold Jr. (Bass
and auxiliary percussion): Although Sherm admits that it was
severe allergies that kept him out of sports and into music while
growing up, he hasn't looked back since he picked up the bass
guitar. He combines a unique and progressive playing style
with a surprisingly aggressive tone adding a dimension of complexity
and texture to the band's sound.
Brad
Battle (Acoustic/electric guitars and vocals): Brad,
since having laid the original foundation for the band, has brought
a strong vocal talent and rhythmic acoustic guitaring to Confusion
of the Senses. His innate ability to harmonize and sing
lead adds the extra dimension to the band's sound which is often
lacking in today's music scene.
Andrew
Gordon (Drums and vocals): Officially the oldest member
of the band, Andrew cut his "drumming teeth" in his grandfather's
wedding band having been self-taught on the drums from the tender
age of 4 years (way back in 1920's). After moving onto another
Ukrainian wedding band and accompanying several dance troupes,
Andrew found himself playing in places such as Disneyworld and
a two-week performance tour of Ukraine, in 1990. On top of all
that, Andrew played for several "bar" bands, all with varying
musical styles. Needless to say, Andrew brings experience, versatility
and a solid style of improvisational drumming to Confusion of
the Senses.
Tim
Hicks (Electric/acoustic guitars, keys and vocals):
Tim brings a musical acuity and versatility to Confusion of the
Senses. This is apparent not only in performances but also
in his writing which is as diverse as his influences. These
range from World Party's Karl Wallinger to Matthew Sweet to the
Beatles. His performance energy transfers itself into searing
guitar solos and intense vocals during live shows and in the studio.
Jay
Tennier (Sound/lighting/guitar technician, website
design, aux. percussion, videographer, photographer, etc...):
Since Jay first joined Confusion of the Senses in 1996 he
has become a supererogatory jack-of-all-trades doing all those
things that band won't or can't do while performing. Though he
is often in the wings during shows, he has become an integral
part of the group and occasionally performs with the band playing
anything from cowbell to congas to electric monkey.
